At the beginning of every month I write myself a wish list for the month ahead.
When writing my Wishlist, I like to include things that will improve who I am as a person, and add in some new goals for myself (some serious - some just for fun).
In my May wish list I added a random wish - Remember to Breathe...
One thing I have become aware of when doing auditions or any acting work, is that I forget to breathe. I know that sounds stupid to some, but when I get nervous I seem to forget to centre myself with breathing.
I was very fortunate to take part in an Audition Workshop, run by two amazing women - Andrea Kelland and Vicky Yiannoutsos when I was up in Auckland.
This was a fantastic experience for me, I learnt so much and developed friendships with some very awesome women.
So during the workshop there was one word that kept coming up - BREATHING!
Hey - I'd put it out to the universe in my wish list so I shouldn't have been so surprised that it became a focal point for me ! So I did remember to breathe - inhale and exhale, and what a difference it makes to your performance on camera - who knew?!
Today is the last day of May and I'm happy to say I have succeeded everything on my wish list!
Looking forward to tomorrow - because I get to write a new one :)
