Only 2 days until September.. the first month of spring begins! This is the time that daffodils will bloom, baby lambs will frolic, days up the mountain will be sunny and joyous... and I get a whole year older.
I don't know if it's just me, but has anyone else noticed that the world has started to spin a lot faster in recent years? Seriously - a year goes so quick - you hardly get to number 3 on your resolution or wish list for the year, and you're starting all over again for the new 'New Year'. I have no complaints about the world spinning faster - economically it's cool - my working day whizzes past, so pay day comes around a lot quicker, which then means the mortgage gets paid faster, etc, etc. See, I have this theory - the world is spinning faster - so our days and years are whizzing by, BUT we don't appear to be ageing at the same rate. I recently caught up with friends who I haven't seen in nearly a decade - we were all amazed at how much we all still look the same - we may be a bit frayed around the edges, (effects of children, work, mortgages etc) - but we definitely don't look as old as our parents looked at our age. It's almost like we're time travelling by staying in the same spot. This whirlwind of time is rushing past us. Since the turn of the millennium when Y2K was important enough to warrant a fridge magnet with the what to do's if it all goes to hell in a hand basket - I have definitely noticed the speed up of time. Maybe something happened that night when all the clocks switched to 0:0:0 00, 00. I can't prove this - I'm no scientist or evolutionary expert, but talk to anyone over the age of 25 and they've noticed this speed up of time. Time is advancing, the pressure is on to live out our dreams! So that's what I'm planning on doing this birthday - I'm getting back on track to living my dreams. There's a few to achieve -so best I log off from this computer and get started!
